Franca sees Tsarukyan as a difficult matchup for Ruffy

Anderson Franca breaks down Tsarukyan vs Ruffy

Anderson Franca, the Muay Thai coach for America Top Team, believes that Arman Tsarukyan will pose a very difficult stylistic challenge for Mauricio Ruffy.

Arman Tsarukyan will face Mauricio Ruffy in the co-main event at the next UFC event. Franca, who has previously coached Arman Tsarukyan, won’t be in his corner on September 19, but he was reportedly involved in developing the game plan. In his latest interview with Sherdog, Franca re-analyzes the matchup between the two and revealed the changes Arman Tsarukyan has made during his training camp.

“Arman always trains with me when he has his camp at ATT, but for this particular camp he brought Petrosyan, who is a high-level fighter who competed in K-1. Arman is an athlete who never gives up and is willing to die in the ring. Mauricio Ruffy, on the other hand, is a sniper, without a doubt the best striker in the lightweight division”

he said.

Franca also explains that, after the fight was scheduled, he was specifically asked to help Arman Tsarukyan prepare for Mauricio Ruffy’s striking. He says that Arman Tsarukyan needs to be very focused because you can’t make any mistakes against Mauricio Ruffy. On the other hand, he says that Arman Tsarukyan’s fight IQ will play a very big role, which is why he sees the odds at 60:40 in favor of Arman Tsarukyan. It’s also important to mention here that we’ve already heard a lot from Mauricio Ruffy’s side as well. So both sides seem to be preparing very, very specifically for their opponent, which could lead to a very exciting matchup. What do you think, who will come out on top on Saturday?

I’m really looking forward to this matchup. Both sides keep saying how well they’re prepared for their opponent and that they’re ready to prove it in the Octagon. I’m really excited about it!
