Anthony Joshua refuses to overlook Kristian Prenga

Joshua insists Prenga is a serious challenge, not just a stepping stone toward a potential Tyson Fury showdown.

Anthony Joshua is convinced that the fight against Kristian Prenga should be viewed as a serious challenge, and not just as a warm-up bout, as many consider it to be.

The former two-time heavyweight champion will return to the ring at the end of July to face Kristian Prenga. Many see this fight as a light warm-up before one of the biggest boxing matches of all time.

In an interview, however, Anthony Joshua emphasized that he sees it a little differently.

"I don't see it as a tune-up fight, and I don't see it as the biggest challenge of my career. It's a fight"

he said.

And actually, he’s right. Kristian Prenga has an impressive record of 20 wins in 21 fights, all by knockout. That means Anthony Joshua might indeed face another tough challenge before, according to some reports, the big showdown against Tyson Fury at the end of this year. But against Kristian Prenga, Anthony Joshua clearly wants to prove what he’s capable of.

"I want to go in there and showcase my skills, it's what this camp is about, it's about improving my skills, I want to go in there and show how good I am"

he said.

So this is a significant fight for Anthony Joshua. With his comeback, he apparently wants to prove himself to many people once again. He also emphasized how important boxing still is to him. But Kristian Prenga is also showing a lot of confidence in the lead-up to the fight. He explained that he has never trained with such focus as he has for this fight, and promised a performance that will help him make a name for himself in the sport.

For Anthony Joshua, a victory would open the door to a fight against Tyson Fury, and for Kristian Prenga, it’s the biggest chance of his career to make a name for himself.

In my opinion, Anthony Joshua is absolutely right. We shouldn't underestimate Kristian Prenga, but he's still the clear underdog. I think Kristian Prenga will put on a good performance, but Anthony Joshua will ultimately win. What do you think?
