Anthony Joshua returns vs Prenga ahead of Fury

Anthony Joshua feels stronger than ever, both physically and mentally, ahead of his comeback against Kristian Prenga. The former two-time world champion will step back into the ring at the end of July for the first time since his victory over Jake Paul, but he views this fight more as a warm-up before his bout with Tyson Fury. Anthony Joshua has recently spoken openly about mental health struggles stemming from a car accident in which two of his friends lost their lives. Understandably, he has seemed to struggle a bit since then, but now his interviews and other statements convey a positive outlook on his future.

"I'm building myself up to be stronger than I've ever been because I know I am - not only physically, because that's natural, but mentally. I've realised I'm a lot stronger than I ever thought I was"

he said. As the conversation continued, he talked at length about how boxing had really helped him get out of that rut, and how grateful he was for that.

So it seems he’s been training a lot, and as a result, he has the confidence he needs for his upcoming fights. He was then asked how the fight against Kristian Prenga would help him. He replied:

"Confidence comes from your training. The fight is only an execution of that, so it's not just the fight that gives me confidence."

So his goal seems clear. First, train hard enough to build up enough self-confidence before the fight even begins. The fight is then just meant to solidify that a bit more, so he’ll be ready for Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury, too, has a warm-up fight planned. However, the details aren’t quite set in stone yet. If both of them win their summer fights, though, they’ll most likely face off around November. Until then, we’ll have to wait and see what happens with the two of them, and we can look forward to watching their warm-up fights.

I hope Anthony Joshua comes out of these fights successfully. He’s been through a tough time, and I wish him nothing but the best. He looks very fit, and I think he is. Still, you don’t just get over something like that, and I just hope it doesn’t weigh too heavily on him. His next fights will be very important for him, and I wish him nothing but the best for them.
