Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury: Hearn confirms new update
Eddie Hearn says the long-awaited fight could be announced next week

The potential fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury apparently has a new date. Eddie Hearn has claimed that the long-awaited fight is set to be officially announced next week. At the same time, he mentioned that he turned down lucrative offers from the U.S. just to ensure the fight takes place in the U.K.
“I thought it was going to be announced this week. Until that fight is announced, I can’t tell you we’ve won that race. What I can tell you categorically is we have said no. No to the extra money, no to the extra bits and pieces. This is what we want. It will be an announcement next week, but I can’t tell you if it’s Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. I would think sooner rather than later”
he told IFL TV.
It’s not a confirmation, but it sounds a bit like the negotiations may have gone fairly well for Anthony Joshua’s team. The only problem is that time is running out. The fight was actually supposed to have been announced a long time ago, which still hasn’t happened. If they don’t manage to reach a deal soon, the goal of fighting this year could fall through. For Anthony Joshua in particular, the cancellation of this fight would be a setback. He’s currently in a difficult phase of his career, and a fight against a young heavyweight would be very risky. Tyson Fury is the best option for him since they’ve shared the spotlight for a long time but have never faced each other. But for that to happen, the promoters finally need to find common ground, otherwise Tyson Fury will soon be on the hunt for a new fight again. What do you think, will the fight really be made official soon?
Personally, I don’t trust any statements about this matchup anymore. It’s unbelievable what’s already been claimed here. But I hope they’ve managed to work it out now and will finally have a date soon. I’m really looking forward to it.
