Belal Muhammad open to Mike Malott fight

The former UFC champion is willing to face Malott if a fight with Kamaru Usman falls through.

Belal Muhammad open to Mike Malott fight

Former UFC welterweight world champion Belal Muhammad has expressed interest in a bout against Mike Malott.

Belal Muhammad has not fought since his loss to Gabriel Bonfim in June. It was his third consecutive loss. Nevertheless, he remains in a strong position, as he is still ranked in the division’s top 10.

For Mike Malott, this would be his first fight at this level. He has an 8-1 record in the UFC and has won his last five fights.

Even though Belal Muhammad is still hoping for a fight with Kamaru Usman, he openly says that if that fight doesn’t happen, he would face Mike Malott. On his YouTube channel, he said:

"The fight definitely makes sense. You know we want to fight (Kamaru) Usman, but I’m not gonna sit there and wait. If Usman’s not trying to go, then for sure Proper Mike Malott would definitely be a yes on my end“

From a sporting perspective, though, this matchup definitely makes sense. Both are fairly close to each other in the rankings, and a win could put either of them in a good position. Despite his three consecutive losses, Belal Muhammad would be a good test for Mike Malott, as it would be the first time he’d face a truly established opponent. What do you think of this potential matchup?

I think it would be a really cool matchup because it would be a tough test for both of them. Belal Muhammad would have to prove he’s still got what it takes, and Mike Malott would have to show he can compete against bigger names. I’d really like to see it, what about you?
