Bill Haney challenges Shakur Stevenson over 145-pound fight

Bill Haney has now publicly called on Shakur Stevenson to finally let his actions speak for themselves after he’s said so much publicly.

Bill confirmed that Devin Haney accepts the weight limit and has not requested any restrictions on weight gain after the weigh-in.

The potential date for the bout has also been set: November 28. Both sides still need to iron out a few details before the bout can be made official, but the basic framework is already in place. Bill, however, was annoyed that Shakur Stevenson appears to be questioning the weight limit that has now been set, even though he had initially agreed to it.

“I think he came out and he said done deal at 145.0. So stand on it”

he said.

This puts pressure on Shakur Stevenson to tackle everything that hasn’t been taken care of yet, perhaps soon. Obviously, no one expects the fight to be completely finalized within three days, but the longer it takes, the more problematic it becomes. If they really want to fight at the end of November, there won’t be much time left to prepare. That’s exactly why Bill is calling for action now, so they can at least make some progress. But Bill isn’t just working to finalize the fight; he’s also certain that Devin Haney will be able to really show everyone who he is here.

“I think that the people now get a chance to see who’s really about it and who’s just talking”

he said.

So, this is definitely a statement of intent. We can only hope that they've worked everything out over the next few days and have actually managed to set up a duel. The duel will probably take place; the only question is who will win it. What do you guys think?
