Bogdan Guskov apologizes after UFC defeat

UFC light heavyweight Bogdan Guskov has apologized to his fans following his rather disappointing performance in his last fight.

Bogdan Guskov was given the biggest opportunity of his MMA career to date when he faced Magomed Ankalaev in the main event of the UFC Abu Dhabi card. Unfortunately, however, the fight did not go according to plan.

Bogdan Guskov found few opportunities to launch offensive attacks during the fight and spent nearly the entire bout on the defensive. He held out until he was stopped by TKO after the referee ended the fight.

Some fans criticized Bogdan Guskov after the fight, but he himself is showing his true character. On social media, he shared the following message, in which he spoke openly about how disappointed he was in himself.

“I’m sorry to everyone who believed in me. That night wasn’t my night, but I’m grateful for everyone who stood behind me and supported me through this journey. Thank you for all the kind words and messages. I’ll learn from this, come back stronger. I’m not done yet”

he wrote.

But what’s next for him?

First of all, it’s important to note that Bogdan Guskov accepted the fight on fairly short notice after Khalil Rountree Jr. had to pull out due to an injury. As a result, his preparation was rather lackluster and apparently a bit too short. Nevertheless, his performance was unfortunately not that good, which is why he’ll likely have to put title shots on hold for now. Of course, no opponent has been confirmed for his next fight yet. However, a rematch against Jan Błachowicz is a possibility. One thing is certain: he’ll have to prove himself again in his next fights in order to make another leap forward.

It’s a sad story for Bogdan Guskov. I think he just wasn’t ready to fight yet, and on top of that, he had a bad day. I hope his future fights go better so he can be happy with himself again.
