Canelo reclaims WBC title after strong performance

Saul Alvarez has indeed reclaimed the WBC super middleweight title. With clean counterpunches and a very strong defense, he repeatedly made his opponent miss, and ultimately won by unanimous decision. After a 13-month hiatus following his loss to Terence Crawford, he has successfully made his comeback and sent a strong message.

Saul Alvarez made his dominance clear relatively early on. Christian Mbilli started the fight with a lot of energy and immediately charged forward. The problem was that he often only hit the guard and couldn’t land any significant blows. Saul Alvarez, on the other hand, controlled the distance with his jab and repeatedly caught the champion with well-placed punches. Starting in the fourth round, Christian Mbilli stepped up his game again and landed more punches. This was particularly evident in the sixth round, when he had a very active spell and forced Saul Alvarez into the ropes several times. Saul Alvarez, however, remained dangerous even during that phase, landing jabs and body shots time and again. In the seventh round, the fight was once again largely in the Mexican’s hands. Even though Christian Mbilli made some strong moves in the 8th and 9th rounds, it ultimately wasn’t enough, and Saul Alvarez won the bout after a very strong performance. Not many people thought it was possible for Saul Alvarez to win over the full distance, since he'd had stamina issues in the past. Here, however, he proved exactly the opposite and has thus returned to the top. What do you think of this matchup?
