Carlos Prates predicts Ian Garry to upset Islam Makhachev

Carlos Prates expects Ian Garry to defeat Islam Makhachev by decision at UFC 330.

Carlos Prates believes that the fight between Ian Machado Garry and Islam Makhachev will go the full distance, and we won’t see an early winner.

Islam Makhachev will defend his UFC welterweight title for the first time on August 15. His opponent is Ian Machado Garry, who is truly an unusual fighter given his height and reach. Carlos Prates, who has previously lost to Ian Machado Garry himself, has therefore cast his vote for him.

Although Islam Makhachev is generally considered the clear favorite, Ian Machado Garry’s fighting style poses a serious challenge for him, one he’ll have to overcome first. Carlos Prates therefore expects an upset and says that Ian Machado Garry will defeat his opponent on points.

“UFC 330, Ian Garry is gonna beat Islam Makhachev by decision, I don't know unanimous decision or split decision. But it’s going to be a decision.”
