Conor McGregor predicts “absolute demolition” against Max Holloway

McGregor is convinced he will dominate Holloway in his comeback fight

Conor McGregor, who is returning to the Octagon after five long years, seems very confident of victory against his opponent. In an interview, he talked about what people can expect from him. When asked if "Mystic Mac" was back, he answered with a resounding "yes." He correctly predicted the outcomes of many of his fights beforehand, whether it was his knockout win against Dustin Poirier or his legendary 13-second victory against José Aldo, he called them all in advance. But what did he say about this fight?

“It’s going to be a demolition, it’s going to be an absolute demolition. I know the damage he’s taken. I will just have to touch him, and after that, it will be clinical. To win alone is not enough; it must be spectacular.”

He also talked about how he might see himself at a disadvantage due to his five-year hiatus. In fact, he sees it more as an advantage. He believes the five-year layoff has allowed him to recover and return fresher than his opponents, a factor he says gives him a significant edge.

"I feel a lot more fresher than these opponents. I’ve had my time of rest, and I feel I’m coming into my prime now. I’ve only entered my prime for now and forever, so that is my mindset going in here.”

McGregor said. In an interview, he also said that this fight strongly reminded him of the previous fight in 2013, which he won by decision. He explained:

“Max didn’t lay a glove on me in the last fight. Is he really a different fighter now? I don’t really see it. I don’t see vast improvements. In fact, the improvements he made were after the fight he had with me. He adopted some of my moves, and then what did he do? He went on to win the world title. So, I sonned Max when I fought him last, and I plan on doing the same again in more devastating fashion.”

So the 37-year-old seems to be brimming with confidence. While his statements seem to already take victory for granted, questions naturally arise as to whether he can actually deliver that performance in the end. If he really does win, “Mystic Mac” will be back.

I find Conor McGregor´s statements very interesting. He’s actually the clear underdog, simply because of his five-year absence. Ultimately, he has always been capable of defying expectations. I can’t really imagine it actually turning out the way he claims, but I’m happy to be surprised.
