Dana White addresses Tom Aspinall’s UFC future
Dana White insists Tom Aspinall remains with the UFC

UFC President Dana White has provided further information regarding the return of Tom Aspinall, and in the same breath addressed the still-baffling statement made by one of Tom Aspinall’s coaches, who claimed that Tom Aspinall would be leaving the promotion in the near future and would not be fighting there again. Sure, it’s been almost a year now, and no fight has been scheduled yet, but why would he leave the UFC out of the blue? White asked himself the same question and reaffirmed that everything is fine between Tom Aspinall and the UFC.
“Whenever he’s healthy (he’ll fight again). He’s not going anywhere. He’s with us, and we’re good with Tom Aspinall. I didn’t know his striking coach had said that, but, obviously, that’s not true. And sounds like Tom clarified that. But yeah, we’re good. When he’s healthy and ready to fight, he’ll fight”
he said.
But we can also assume that Dana White is once again very much looking forward to the return of his heavyweight star. The division has been on hold for a while now, and it’s time for things to get moving again. The eye injury sustained by Tom Aspinall led the promotion to introduce an interim title. Ciryl Gane won that title when he defeated Alex Pereira. That means he’ll be the next title challenger, though it remains to be seen when that will happen. Hopefully, the doctors will finally give him the all-clear soon and let him fight as soon as possible.
I’m really looking forward to the heavyweight division picking up steam again soon. I hope Dana has come up with an exciting title schedule in Tom Aspinall’s absence, something we can all look forward to.
