Dana White clarifies comments on Farid Basharat
The UFC CEO says his remarks about contract releases were not specifically aimed at Basharat.

Dana White has spoken again about Farid Basharat, and this time he clarified his choice of words a bit.
Last week, Farid Basharat was released by the UFC despite his flawless 7-0 record after the promotion decided not to renew his contract. When White was asked about the situation a few days later, he hinted that there were definitely some issues outside the Octagon.
Farid Basharat, however, denied all of this and said that he had not turned down any fights or been a difficult person in any way. At the last press conference, White apparently felt compelled to comment on this again. He was asked whether Movsar Evloev also had to fear for his spot.
“I’m glad you asked me that question. What I would like to clarify — I saw the kid on Instagram last week. When I was talking about why some guys get released, or their contracts don’t get renewed, I was just saying in general. I wasn’t pointing him out, specifically”
White said.
Fans had speculated that the reason for the contract’s termination was an entertainment issue, since Farid Basharat has won most of his fights by decision, similar to Movsar Evloev. Movsar Evloev, in fact, has won all ten of his victories by decision, which is why the fans’ speculation makes sense. White, however, clearly dismissed this and said:
“No, I can’t promise anything. But he’s in a pretty good spot right now. He’s still here, and he’s fighting this weekend. He’s fighting for the title. I don’t think you need to worry about him at all”
Although the reason for Farid Basharat's contract expiration still isn't entirely clear, there is at least more information now regarding the rumors about Movsar Evloev. What do you think?
