Dana White denies Oscar De La Hoya was banned from Garcia-Benn
Oscar De La Hoya’s absence raises questions after Garcia’s win

Dana White has denied that Oscar De La Hoya was prevented from watching the fight between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn on Saturday night. However, this statement raises even more questions about the Golden Boy promoter’s still-unexplained absence.
De La Hoya was virtually invisible during the entire event, even though he was promoting Ryan Garcia. On Friday night, he even promised in a video that he had a surprise in store.
“See you tomorrow, and boy, do I have a surprise for you”
he said.
But on Saturday night, there was no sign of him.
White was asked about Oscar during his post-fight press conference. He made no attempt to hide the mutual animosity between them, though he also emphasized that Zuffa Boxing had not prevented him from participating in the event.
“I do not like De La Hoya, and De La Hoya does not like me. I would never disrespect him and say, ‘Oh, he shows up here, and we treat him like [expletive].’ I would call him on the phone and say, ‘Hey, don’t [expletive] show up to this event because we’re not going to treat you well.’ That was not the case. Why he didn’t show up, I don’t know”
he said.
And after that statement, it’s somehow even stranger. Oscar lives near Las Vegas and promotes Ryan Garcia, who was the center of attention at these events, so why wasn’t he there? His absence, however, coincides with the period when, according to reports, Ryan Garcia has only one fight left on his contract.
All in all, it’s a little strange, and Oscar will probably have some explaining to do. What do you think was the reason for his absence?
