Dana White explains absence from Fury-Joshua presser
UFC boss also clarifies his involvement in the fight

Dana White will not be present at Wednesday’s press conference between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury , and has now explained his reasons for this.
White was recently in Las Vegas promoting the “Dana White Contender Series” and explained why he didn’t have time for the press conference, as well as what the future holds for him and his relationship with the mega-fight.
Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua’s longtime promoter at Matchroom Boxing, recently made it clear once again that White is not supposed to have anything to do with marketing the fight in the future due to an internal dispute. This led to renewed speculation that the fight might fall through as a result. However, this does not seem to be the case, and even Netflix had to rein Hearn in a bit. They took a firm stance on the matter, stating that White is one of the most important promoters of the fight. As for why he wasn’t at the press conference, there was a simple reason.
“No, [I will not be at the press conference] because I [am] here [in Las Vegas for DWCS]. I would have been there if I didn’t have the ‘Contender,’ ” White said during a press conference at Meta APEX, UFC’s performance complex. “There is no confusion whatsoever [whether or not I am involved in the fight]. If you look at everything from the network to the guy who’s actually paying for it and to me, saying what I’ve said. I’ve been saying the same thing [for months]”
White said.
He didn't explain in detail, however, exactly what role he will play in promoting the match. He did assure everyone, though, that the fight will definitely take place, after some uncertainty had recently arisen again. So for now, everything is fine again, who knows for how long.
