Dana White eyes Benavidez and Davis for Zuffa

White wants to bring two major boxing stars to Zuffa

Dana White would like to work with David Benavidez and Gervonta Davis. Both names would bring significant reach to Zuffa. David Benavidez, in particular, offers the potential for regular major events, which Dana is eager to have.

“I’m a big Tank fan. I love Tank. I love Benavidez. There’s guys out there that I personally like and I’m a fan of that I would like to work with”

he told Cigar Talk.

Zuffa already has a suitable opponent for David Benavidez in Jai Opetaia. It seems both are ready to face off against each other. First, however, David Benavidez has another bout coming up against Michał Cieślak in December. However, if he wins that fight, the path is clear for Zuffa to set up a bout within its own organization between David Benavidez and Jai Opetaia. To be fair, though, David Benavidez’s availability isn’t 100% certain, since no one is really sure how many fights he has left on his current contract. That said, Dana surely knows this and has already given it some thought.

As for Gervonta Davis, a fight against Shakur Stevenson would be very interesting. Fans would love the matchup, but Gervonta Davis’s frequent inactivity could, in turn, be problematic for Zuffa.

So Zuffa has big plans for the future. It’ll be very exciting to see if there will be open negotiations and how they play out. What do you think?

I’d be really excited about both signings. With Gervonta Davis, the question naturally arises as to whether it’s worth it for Zuffa, but I’m sure they could definitely put together some cool matchups.
