Denzel Bentley offers Conor Benn WBO title fight
Bentley wants Benn to skip the queue for a world title shot

WBO middleweight world champion Denzel Bentley appears open to a fight with Conor Benn. Benn most recently lost to Ryan Garcia for the WBC welterweight world title after two rounds. He was ranked No. 1 by the WBC despite not having fought at that weight class for four years.
Ryan Garcia destroyed the overwhelmed Brit within two rounds. Now, Conor Benn is expected to return to the middleweight division. Many speculate that he might face his longtime rival Chris Eubank Jr. again there. Chris Eubank Jr. even publicly taunted him on X after his defeat. Conor Benn says he doesn’t yet know exactly what his next move will be, but a fight against Chris Eubank Jr. is certainly one of the most likely possibilities. However, this isn’t his only option. Denzel Bentley has publicly offered Conor Benn a fight for the WBO world title. Speaking to SkySports, he said:
"Although the public might not think he deserves another world title shot; in my eyes, I feel like his profile is big enough for him to skip the queue. It's unfair but that's the sport we're in. Obviously it's beneficial for me, especially financially, so 100 per cent that's the fight I would take. I've never had any beef with Conor, we've always been cool"
He also said that Conor Benn should take some time to recover first. As soon as he’s back in shape, he should think it all through and then decide which fight he wants to take next. He also thinks that Conor Benn will perform significantly better at a higher weight class, which will definitely raise the level of the title fight. It’s an interesting offer that Denzel Bentley has put forward here. We’ll just have to wait and see when Conor Benn responds.
I’m a bit skeptical about this idea. I don’t think Conor Benn should skip the queue and go straight into another title fight. I think it would be better for him if he fully recovers first. What do you think?
