Top super middleweight contender stays fully focused despite a likely world title shot being within reach.

Diego Pacheco refuses to overlook Immanuwel Aleem

It’s quite common for fighters to underestimate their opponents. There have been many instances where top boxers faced opponents who were considered mere stepping stones, only to lose. But that doesn’t seem to be the case for Diego Pacheco. Ahead of his fight against Immanuwel Aleem, he’s in an outstanding position in the super middleweight division. With a victory over Immanuwel Aleem, Diego Pacheco would most likely secure a world title fight, but he can’t even think about that right now.

“I’m not looking past this Saturday. We're looking forward to this fight. But we have our eyes set on the bigger picture, and that's becoming a world champion"

he said at a press conference.

Immanuwel Aleem comes into the fight with three wins in his last six bouts, two of which were by knockout. Diego Pacheco is aware of this threat and will by no means underestimate his opponent on Saturday.

“I definitely take him seriously. He's a good fighter, and I take nothing from him"

he said.

He also talked about how well-prepared he feels. According to him, it was one of the best training camps of his career, and he feels extremely well-prepared for the match. We’ll find out soon whether all of this pays off. Still, Diego Pacheco seems like the kind of guy who definitely goes into the fight with the right mindset.

Diego Pacheco definitely comes across as very likable to me here. I hope that if he wins, he’ll stay just as down-to-earth. I’m definitely rooting for him to win, and I hope he can then fulfill his dream of winning the title.
