Whyte opens up about his broken foot and a potential Fisher fight

Dillian Whyte reveals serious injury before Itauma fight

Dillian Whyte spoke about a serious foot injury and, later on, about a future match.

Dillian Whyte suffered a serious foot injury before his match against Moses Itauma. The British fighter had already broken his foot once during training leading up to this fight, before the injury recurred during the match.

“It felt like someone had dropped a dumbbell on my foot”

he said.

Dillian Whyte explained that he sustained the injury during sparring. While warming up in the locker room, the injury eventually flared up again. A doctor advised him against fighting Moses Itauma, but Dillian Whyte had no intention of canceling the fight on such short notice. Despite the injury, he went into the fight hoping to wear down Moses Itauma in the later rounds. However, his limited mobility quickly became apparent, and Moses Itauma took advantage of it, landing a series of hard punches. The fight was subsequently stopped after just one round. Dillian Whyte didn’t want to use his injury as an excuse after the fight and paid his opponent respect. At the same time, however, he emphasized that the circumstances of his defeat were never fully taken into account.

Now that Dillian Whyte is set to make his comeback, he could face Johnny Fisher soon. Johnny Fisher recently issued a challenge to him, to which Dillian Whyte responded with great confidence.

“I will knock Johnny Fisher out, simple as that”

he said.

It's going to be a tough fight for both of them. The question is whether Dillian Whyte will once again downplay his injury, or whether he'll actually set aside enough time this time to fully recover. What do you think? Will the fight take place, and if so, who's your favorite?
