Eddie Hearn puts Andy Ruiz Jr. under pressure

Eddie Hearn doesn't mince words when it comes to Andy Ruiz Jr., either, and I believe that if he doesn't win a potential heavyweight bout against Dave Allen, it will spell the definitive end for Andy Ruiz Jr..

Hearn would love to see this matchup and is apparently in the process of organizing it. Even though the contracts haven’t been signed yet, he already has an idea of where he’d like to stage the fight.

“It’s a fight I’d actually like to bring to Sheffield Arena. I think it’s a bizarre fight, but I think it’s one that does really, really well. And I think it’s basically like, if Andy Ruiz don’t beat Dave Allen, he’s done”

he told IFL TV.

If Andy Ruiz Jr. were to win the fight, it probably wouldn’t get him much further, while a loss could spell the end of his career. Dave Allen is generally considered the underdog going into the fight, but there’s significantly more at stake for Andy Ruiz Jr.. Andy Ruiz Jr. was recently soundly outboxed by Damian Knyba over twelve rounds. He seemed slow and uninspired, and even his once-dangerous hand speed couldn’t save him anymore. That said, it’s worth noting that he hasn’t been very active lately. With just five fights in the last seven years, it’s somewhat understandable why things are the way they are. However, the bout with Damian Knyba could actually signal the end if Andy Ruiz Jr. were to lose here. What do you think?

I completely agree with all of that, but I don’t understand why Eddie Hearn feels the need to pile on so much unnecessary pressure. I don’t think that kind of behavior is good, and to be honest, I believe it’s made Andy Ruiz Jr. even more insecure. What do you think?
