Evloev explains why Lopes could thrive at lightweight

The UFC contender believes a smaller weight cut could help Lopes perform better.

Movsar Evloev believes that Diego Lopes' decision to move to the lightweight division could be a very good one, as he expects Lopes to perform better there. The Brazilian would then finally no longer have to lose so much weight to make the featherweight limit. In an interview, he said:

"Maybe he will be more effective in lightweight“

And he’s speaking a little from experience here. Movsar Evloev has already moved down from bantamweight to featherweight once before and apparently felt much better physically there. Cutting too much weight can simply limit performance significantly, and maybe that’s exactly what’s holding Diego Lopes back.
