Fundora eyes Ennis showdown after latest knockout
The WBC champion wants to unify the titles in 2027 after stopping Hadribeaj.

Sebastian Fundora proved last night that last-second knockouts are still part of the sport.
Sebastian Fundora defended his WBC welterweight world title for the fourth time last night by knocking out challenger Ermal Hadribeaj one second before the fight ended. It was a close call, but a knockout is a knockout, and with this victory, he notched his fourth consecutive knockout win. After the fight, Sebastian Fundora explained that he had deliberately sought an open exchange of blows.
“Today, I just wanted to brawl. We showed we could still do what we’re best at right? Fighting on the inside. And we beat this guy who wanted to fight on the inside”
he said.
With this fight, he’s also opened the door to the highly anticipated showdown between him and Jaron Ennis. Jaron Ennis holds the WBA and WBO titles, and both are reportedly very interested in a unification bout. According to some reports, this could take place as early as next year. The only question is whether Jaron Ennis will step into the ring again before then, or if the next fight will truly be the unification bout. What do you think?
A unification bout between the two would, of course, be incredibly interesting. I think both are ready for it, and I also don’t think Jaron Ennis will fight again before then. I think the fight will take place in the spring of 2027.
