Tyson Fury points to Madison Square Garden for Joshua clash

Fury appears to confirm Joshua fight venue

Tyson Fury posted on Instagram on September 1, in which he appears to announce the venue for his next fight against Anthony Joshua: Madison Square Garden in New York, USA. This puts an end to rumors that the fight would be moved elsewhere, and nothing stands in the way of the fight now.

"What a place NYC, and what a venue MSG, and what a fight Fury vs AJ, the land of opportunity. What a weekend away for the lads on the p*ss in NYC. Iconic! Not long now guys"

he wrote on Instagram.

Madison Square Garden is one of the most famous venues in the world of boxing and has a long history. Among other events, it hosted the “Fight of the Century” between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier in 1971. The two undefeated champions fought for the WBA, WBC, and The Ring heavyweight titles. It was the first time in history that two undefeated boxers had fought for the world heavyweight championship, making it a massive event.

However, the event far exceeded expectations. It is estimated that more than 300 million people watched the event. Frazier ultimately won the fight by decision. However, their rivalry clearly differs from today’s matchup between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, as Frazier and Ali were both 30 years old at the time and thus at the peak of their careers. Tyson Fury is now 38 years old and Anthony Joshua is 36. Both have already shown signs of a decline in performance and are clearly no longer at the peak of their careers. Hopefully, the fight will be finalized soon so we don’t have to wait any longer.
