Fury claims Joshua fight is in trouble again
Fury blames Hearn as new reports put December fight in doubt
If you thought the fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury was finally set in stone, I’m afraid I have to disappoint you. There are already new reports that the fight is reportedly in trouble again. After months of negotiations, it was finally confirmed on Thursday that the two would face off on December 11. The fight is scheduled to be for the WBA heavyweight title. On Friday evening, however, reports surfaced again suggesting that the fight is once again in jeopardy due to problems.
Tyson Fury has already responded on social media, claiming that his rival wanted to cancel the fight because of a dispute between his promoter, Eddie Hearn, and Dana White. It is speculated that the real reason is that Turki Alalshikh likely wants White’s Zuffa Boxing to promote the fight. Hearn, however, will never allow that, which is why the disputes have flared up again. Tyson Fury became visibly angry as a result and said in his post:
“Breaking News: Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn are trying to pull out of this fight; they are saying he is not going to fight now. They're little s***house cowards, mainly to do with Eddie Hearn's ego, he's making up a million different things and threatening that "we're not going to fight" you little coward. AJ pull your finger out you white flag, yellow-bellied coward. You know now we're coming home, now I'm coming home, the Gypsy King is coming back to the United Kingdom to thrash you in front of all my fans in Wales”
he said.
It’s hard to say for sure whether this is really a threat regarding the upcoming fight. The fight has been signed and announced; it’ll be hard to find reasons to call it off. Still, it’s a shame that there are arguments over contractual issues again after everything had been finalized. What do you think, is the fight in jeopardy again?
I don’t even know what to say about this fight anymore. One day everything’s fine and the fight is set, the next day it’s completely up in the air again. I’m really curious to see what else is in store for us...
