Fury-Joshua: Hearn disputes Dana White’s role

By now, we can finally say that the fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is real, and that we’ll get to witness one of the biggest fights in boxing history. Even though the fight is now official, the feud between Dana White and Eddie Hearn shows no signs of ending. The UFC CEO is firmly convinced that he should also act as a promoter and will continue to be involved in the event, while Eddie has repeatedly questioned his role.

White was asked about the fight during a press conference. He reiterated the role he is supposed to play in the fight and explained that his entire team is working with him on this bout.

“We’re producing the show. Just like Canelo-Crawford, same thing,” White said. “Craig Borsari, Zach, my whole team. We will be producing the show. I’ll have my little phone on the table just like tonight and every other show that I produce. I’ll be there. I’m producing it. I’m promoting it. I’ll see you in Wales”

he said.

Hearn responded fairly quickly to these statements, and not exactly in White's favor.

“To be honest with you at this point, I think he’s completely cooked. What he actually said was, ‘We are doing the TV production,’ which again in the contract is prohibited”

Hearn said.

So he’s claiming that White isn’t supposed to play any role at all in the fight under the terms of the contract. You can generally assume that this is actually true, since Eddie would surely have pulled some strings if White had been part of the promoter’s team. What do you think about this?

I think the feud has gotten a little ridiculous by now. Both of them are constantly saying crazy things about each other for no real reason. They’re free to dislike each other, but they should both know they don’t need to take it too far.
