George Liddard aims to fulfill his childhood dream

George Liddard will have a chance to win a continental title on August 22 when he faces Dario Morello to compete for the vacant European middleweight title.
For George Liddard, this is a huge dream that could come true, and a victory would fulfill his childhood dream. In an interview, he said:
“When you work so hard that it seems unreasonable that you don’t achieve your goals, that just fills you with confidence”
George Liddard has a pretty impressive record of 14-0, including eight knockouts. His most recent major victory came last October when he defeated Kieron Conway and, at just 23 years old, became the youngest British and Commonwealth middleweight champion of all time.
His upcoming opponent, Dario Morello, is already 33 years old and therefore brings significantly more experience to the ring. This is reflected in his record of 26-1, including four KOs. He knows how to fight over long distances, though he doesn’t pose the greatest knockout threat. This won’t be an easy opponent for George Liddard, but his goal should be to apply a lot of pressure very early on and try to score a knockout. If he manages that, he’d continue to write a great story for himself and could soon become a big name.
I really like George Liddard’s interviews, as well as his approach to the fight. That’s why I’d be really happy for him if he wins this fight. I think young, ambitious fighters like him who still have their feet on the ground are really cool, and I always wish them the best. What do you think, will George Liddard’s journey continue?
