George Liddard Wins European Middleweight Title
George Liddard stops Dario Morello to claim the vacant european title.

George Liddard has done it. He defeated Dario Morello last night, securing the vacant European middleweight title. The victory brings his record to 15-0, and it marks his first stoppage victory of his career. Dario Morello continued to fade until his corner pulled him out of the fight at the start of the ninth round. It was a well-deserved victory for George Liddard. He dominated the fight from the first round onward and kept up constant pressure. In the second round, he had to briefly adjust to his opponent’s unusual fighting style, but George Liddard continued to perform well afterward. In the eighth round, he sent his opponent to the ground, and that may well have been the deciding factor in Dario Morello’s decision not to continue.
Dario Morello had previously racked up a winning streak of eleven victories and had never been stopped early in a fight before. So it was a strong statement by George Liddard to win against such an experienced fighter. Maybe we’ll see him again soon, this time competing for bigger titles. He’s certainly earned that opportunity.
A great performance by George Liddard. The fight was very fast-paced and really interesting to watch. Maybe he'll get a bigger opportunity soon. We'll see.
