Hearn doubts Benn will fight for Zuffa again
The Matchroom CEO expects disagreements over Benn’s next opponent to end their partnership.

Conor Benn is currently under contract with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing. However, Matchroom CEO Eddie Hearn is certain that Conor Benn will not fight another bout under that organization. Zuffa had a difficult start in the boxing world, but it already had big names like Conor Benn, Jai Opetaia, and Shakur Stevenson on its roster. The situation with Conor Benn is complicated because, although he won his first fight with his new employer, he lost his second one quickly. Shakur Stevenson, on the other hand, has since terminated his contract and left the organization due to ongoing matchmaking issues. In a conversation with Pro Boxing Fans, Hearn expressed doubt that Conor Benn will even fight another bout at all.
“You’ve just given Conor Benn 15 million. Watch what happens with Conor now. He’s got a comeback fight. Watch who they try and make him fight for that comeback fight. I don’t believe he will fight for Zuffa again. He’ll go ‘I’m not fighting him’ and they’ll go ‘see ya’ because that’s what they do. What they will do is give him an opponent he doesn’t want to fight, because he’s on a lot of money for a comeback fight. I know how they work. I can see it miles off“
Hearn said.
Conor Benn is currently recovering from his latest loss and recently stated that he likely won’t return to the welterweight division. However, this opens the door for a third and decisive bout against Chris Eubank Jr., which he could very well fight next year. The only question is whether that will still happen now that Conor Benn is with Zuffa. What do you think?
