Hrgovic believes he has found Itauma’s weakness
The Croatian plans to exploit Itauma’s habits with precise counterpunching.

Filip Hrgović believes he has identified a weakness in Moses Itauma and feels that his previous opponents have never really exploited it; he has set himself the goal of doing exactly that.
He appears to have recognized a pattern in Moses Itauma’s fighting style where he is vulnerable to counterattacks after certain moves. Moses Itauma is left-handed and has so far mostly been able to overwhelm his opponents with his hand speed, power, and southpaw stance. As a result, he has rarely been forced to adapt his style. However, Filip Hrgović revealed in an interview how he plans to capitalize on this.
“When does this feinting? It’s not going to work with me. I’m going to stick the jab in his face with that feinting down. Boom, jab, boom, jab. And when he come with a left hand, I’m going back. Boom. Counter punch”
he said.
Another difference, in his opinion, will be the hard strikes. Filip Hrgović is convinced that he will hit the 21-year-old harder than any of Moses Itauma’s previous opponents have ever done. He says that Moses Itauma has never really been hit hard before, and no one knows how he’ll handle it. And that’s true. Filip Hrgović definitely brings more experience to the table than any of Moses Itauma’s previous opponents. So far, Moses Itauma has rarely been forced into tight situations but has mostly set the pace of the fight himself, and that’s exactly Filip Hrgović’s opportunity. He doesn’t necessarily have to outpace Moses Itauma; instead, he should focus on forcing him into unfamiliar territory. If he manages to do that, it will be a very interesting fight, and a completely new situation for the 21-year-old Moses Itauma.
I think Filip Hrgović has found a good approach here for how he can inflict damage on Moses Itauma. Still, I think Moses Itauma will somehow find a way to counter that and ultimately win the fight. What do you think?
