Hrgovic closing in on Croatia home fight against Sanchez

Frank Warren says plans are progressing, although a bigger offer could still change the matchup.

Hrgovic closing in on Croatia home fight against Sanchez

Filip Hrgović’s home fight against Frank Sánchez is getting closer and closer, but the only thing that could stand in the way would be another, even more attractive offer. For now, however, Frank Sánchez remains the most likely opponent, and an announcement shouldn’t be too far off. Frank Warren has confirmed that he is working very hard to make Filip Hrgović’s home fight a reality.

"He asked us, he said that his dream was to fight in Croatia, and we’ve been working on that. I think we’ll be close to announcing something very soon”

Warren said.

Although he didn't announce a specific date or anything like that yet, he made it clear once again that the bout is quite likely, since Frank Sánchez is apparently already committed to the fight. However, if a better opportunity were to arise on short notice, a change would still be possible. In fact, following Daniel Dubois’s victory, some fans speculated that the two might step back into the ring for a rematch. Warren did not confirm this, however, and Frank Sánchez will likely remain the scheduled opponent for now. No one knows what will happen in the future; he just wants to keep the door open for that possibility.
