Ian Machado Garry targets Michael Morales next

Garry believes a win over the undefeated Michael Morales could earn him another shot at UFC gold.

Ian Machado Garry already has his sights set on his next opponent following his recent loss to Islam Makhachev.

Although the former welterweight title contender lost his first title fight by unanimous decision, he had secured that opportunity with dominant victories over Belal Muhammad and Carlos Prates. Despite the loss, Ian Machado Garry is confident he can beat Islam Makhachev, but he’ll need at least one more win to earn another title shot. That’s why he’s set his sights on Michael Morales for his next fight presumably, because Michael Morales is still undefeated and a win over him would make a strong statement.

“That’s Michael Morales. When I beat him, I’m the only one who deserves a title shot, even though me and Islam have just fought. Whether Islam wins, whether Carlos Prates wins the next fight, it’s two massive rematches. If I go out there and finish Michael Morales and get my hand raised, it’s undeniable that I’m back up there for a title shot”

Michael Morales currently has a 19-0 record. A win against him could possibly put Machado Garry back in title contention. What do you think?
