Former UFC champion resumes full training

Ilia Topuria back in training after medical clearance

Ilia Topuria is back in training and appears to be preparing for his highly anticipated comeback.

The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion recently shared photos of himself training on Instagram. He wrote:

"Back to the office“

Now that he’s been medically cleared, he's apparently resuming full training. After a long wait, he’s finally been cleared to train fully again following a tough loss to Justin Gaethje in June. During the fight, he sustained serious facial injuries that severely impaired his vision. As a result, his corner stopped the fight in the fourth round. Since receiving medical clearance, he has regularly commented on this outcome. Recently, he called for a rematch against Justin Gaethje and also accused him of illegally tampering with his gloves. However, these allegations have already been dismissed. His future is currently unclear. We’ve often reported on why a rematch with Justin Gaethje wouldn’t necessarily be the best option for him and that he should focus on other bouts instead. One possibility here would be a fight against Paddy Pimblett What do you think his first fight will be after his loss?

I don’t know who it will be. Instead, I’m more interested in how much training time he’ll get for now. I’m curious to see if he wants his next fight as soon as possible, or if he’ll take more time to come back stronger.
