Isaac Cruz calls out Ryan Garcia for December fight

Ryan Garcia offers Isaac Cruz a December showdown

Isaac Cruz was one of the names popping up in countless news stories this week. First, he scored a dominant victory over Nestor Bravo, stopping him with a brutal left hook in the sixth round to defend his interim title, and then he called out one of the biggest names in the sport. WBC world champion Ryan Garcia was the one he was referring to. Garcia himself recently defeated Conor Benn in the second round and responded immediately to Nestor Bravo’s challenge, even offering him a fight.

“Let’s do this in December. The offer is on the table. I can tame a lion. I’m not too concerned about taming a pit bull"

he wrote.

Ryan Garcia then followed up, explaining that Isaac Cruz had already turned down two offers and that this was definitely the last invitation to a fight.

From a sporting perspective, the fight would also be very interesting. Ryan Garcia would have the advantage due to his height and reach and could keep Isaac Cruz at a distance. However, Isaac Cruz has tremendous power and a strong left hand, as we saw just recently. So the bout could actually turn out to be much more competitive than one might initially think. It’ll be interesting to see when they set a date for the fight and how it actually plays out.

It would be a great, exciting fight. I think Isaac Cruz would be the slight underdog, but luckily that doesn’t really mean much. I’m really curious to see what’s next for us in this story.
