Ismael Bonfim reacts to fourth straight UFC loss

UFC lightweight Ismael Bonfim has spoken out following his TKO loss to Francisco Prado at UFC 122.

Ismael Bonfim missed the weight limit by 7.5 pounds on Friday before the fight and was subsequently soundly defeated in the bout. This marks his fourth consecutive loss in the Octagon. It wasn’t a great weekend for him, and he certainly knows that himself. In his statement following the loss, however, he seems relatively calm, as he believes it’s all part of a bigger plan.

"We’ve come here the hardest way, facing battles few know about, overcoming fears, breaking barriers, and fighting against things that go far beyond what happens inside an octagon. The result of a battle does not define the value of a warrior, and defeat will never be able to erase the entire history we have built. I keep my head held high, my heart at peace and my faith even stronger. Because who knows where he came from, everything he faced and how much he had to fight to get here, doesn’t give up because of a result. My story doesn’t end here. God is still writing the next chapters, and I trust Him completely. All honor and all glory be given to God!“

he wrote.

The only problem is that it’s not even certain whether he’ll ever fight in the UFC again. It was his fourth consecutive loss, and it’s likely that he’ll have to take a step back for now and continue his career with another promotion. However, according to reports, they’re interested in him, which means it’s relatively certain he’ll find something new. If he performs well there, no one can rule out the possibility that he might make it back to the UFC, if he even wants to at that point. It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for him. What do you think?
