Itauma urged to face Knyba in comeback fight
Kabayel believes Knyba could be the right opponent for Itauma

Moses Itauma’s road back to a world title fight is set to begin with a bout against Damian Knyba.
At least that’s the opinion of the current WBC world champion Agit Kabayel, who was unfortunately denied a potential unification bout against Moses Itauma. Last month, the 21-year-old was stopped rather surprisingly by the Croatian Filip Hrgović. Moses Itauma was actually well ahead until the eighth round, but then he somehow seemed to run out of steam. He slowed down significantly and was suddenly on the defensive, taking hard shots from his opponent. After this defeat, the big question has been who he should face next. For the undefeated Agit Kabayel, a former opponent, namely Damian Knyba, would be the perfect choice. He told Playbook Boxing:
"I will tell you one fight for Moses who is good, for the comeback fight, Knyba! Knyba with Moses is a good fight, why not?”
Damian Knyba currently has a record of 18-19, including 11 KOs. Agit Kabayel suffered his first career loss in January. Their bout back then was for the WBC interim title. Most recently, however, Damian Knyba won again with a strong performance against Andy Ruiz Jr.. A bout between Moses Itauma and Damian Knyba would indeed be an exciting matchup worth betting on. The only question is, would Moses Itauma be up for it? After his bout with Filip Hrgović, Moses Itauma was convinced he wanted a rematch. He’d like to get his revenge quickly, the only question is when he’ll be able to do so.
I think Moses Itauma should look for other opponents first before he really focuses on a rematch. First, he needs to see how his stamina holds up and how he manages to keep boxing well even in the later rounds. After that, though, he can actually take on just about anyone.
