Jake Paul announces comeback opponent
The YouTuber-turned-boxer will face Cedric Doumbe on December 24 in Dubai.

As is well known, Jake Paul hasn’t fought since his devastating knockout loss to Anthony Joshua last December, as he broke his jaw in that bout. He subsequently had to undergo several surgeries before he could return to the ring. Now, however, he’s back and will make his comeback on December 24. At first, no opponent had been confirmed for this fight, but now one has been named. Cédric Doumbé will be the one facing him that evening.
"Cédric Douchebag was calling me out two years ago after knocking some dude out in nine seconds. Well, Douchebag, now you get your chance. I'm rusty, my jaw is janky and I don't have kickboxing world titles like you do. But guess what, this isn't kickboxing mon ami. This is boxing. I am going to eat you for dinner in Dubai on Christmas Eve and have a Coca-Cola at the arena to celebrate"
said Jake Paul.
Cédric Doumbé had only fought in one professional boxing match before that, and that was in 2015. Although he won by decision in that fight, he hasn’t been seen in the boxing ring since. However, he’s been quite successful in kickboxing and has had a long career there. He then switched to MMA, where he racked up six wins and one loss. In response to Jake Paul’s announcement, Cédric Doumbé replied:
"Jake Paul calls himself the Problem Child, but he's never faced a problem like me. He has no idea what a Frenchman is capable of, and on Thursday, December 24 in Dubai, I'm going to eat 'El Poulet' for dinner. Jake loves to talk, and so do I, but after what Joshua did to his jaw, I'm not sure how much talking he has left. I'm going to finish the job Joshua started. Dubai is a special city to me, and on Christmas Eve, I'll be waving Le Tricolore over his unconscious body. France, this one's for you"
The bout between the two will take place in the cruiserweight division. Things already seem to be heating up in the lead-up, though that’s not really surprising when Jake Paul is one of the names involved. It’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top in the end and actually follows through on their promises. What do you think?
