Jaron 'Boots' Ennis stops Xander Zayas to become unified champion
Xander Zayas pushed Jaron 'Boots' Ennis to his limits before the Philadelphia star secured a dramatic seventh-round TKO to capture the WBO and WBA world titles.

Jaron Ennis wins the superfight against Xander Zayas via TKO in the seventh round. Despite the loss, Xander Zayas put on a remarkable performance, but Jaron Ennis put him in very difficult situations several times. Ultimately, however, Jaron Ennis was crowned the new WBO and WBA world champion in the super welterweight division after the fight.
The fight looked very promising from the start. As early as the first round, Xander Zayas suffered a shock when he was sent to the canvas early on. However, he fought his way back strongly and performed particularly well in the second and third rounds. Both boxers put on a good show, but Jaron Ennis was ultimately too strong. In the sixth round, Xander Zayas expended a lot of energy because he was essentially limited to dodging. As a result, the fight came to an end in the seventh round. Xander Zayas was sent to the canvas after a powerful three-punch combination, at which point the referee called the fight.
“He hurt me a little bit in that first round. Then around the third or fourth I hurt him, but then he got me again”
Xander Zayas said after the fight. It was a very close match, and both fighters showed what they were capable of. Of course, Jaron Ennis applied more pressure, but Xander Zayas took it very well. Jaron Ennis praised him again for that after the fight.
“He was a big guy, I knew he could take some punches”
he said. After the fight, the atmosphere was very respectful. Before the fight, things got very heated because the two of them were constantly trash-talking each other. But after the fight, there was no sign of that anymore.
“Sometimes you come up short. He deserved to win tonight”
said Xander Zayas.
It was a very interesting and exciting match. I thought Jaron Ennis was particularly strong on offense, and he applied a lot of pressure. Still, I was also surprised by how much Xander Zayas was ultimately able to take. But I'm glad that everything ultimately went so respectfully, since there were some heated exchanges before the fight. Congratulations, in any case, to Jaron Ennis , and I’m excited to see what kind of fight awaits us next.
