Jaron Ennis could face Josh Kelly for IBF title
Jaron Ennis could face Josh Kelly in a three-belt junior middleweight unification fight later this year.

As is well known, Jaron Ennis wants to unify all the junior middleweight titles, and Josh Kelly could now offer him the fastest route to holding three of the four belts.
Jaron Ennis currently holds the WBA and WBO titles in the division, while Josh Kelly holds the IBF title. The key point here is that both boxers are under contract with Matchroom, which prevents any potential complications between the promotions from arising in the first place.
Eddie Hearn had already hinted at a matchup between the two even before Josh Kelly’s title defense on July 25 against Caoimhín Agyarko. Eddie himself said that a fight between the two is very possible, and could happen very soon. He told iFL TV:
“There’s a very good chance that Josh Kelly will fight Boots in November, in America. Not Newcastle.”
Josh Kelly has done his part with his successful title defense. Now it’s up to Matchroom to organize the fight. For Jaron Ennis, this matchup definitely makes sense, and a refusal would be highly unlikely. He’s said many times that he wants to win all the titles, and this would be his third out of four.
So, all in all, the fight would make perfect sense. For Josh Kelly, it’s a huge opportunity to win two titles at once, and for Jaron Ennis , it would be a significant bout that would help him continue his climb to the top. If Hearn still plans to hold the fight toward the end of this year, the path is now clear for him. Both fighters would be absolutely ready to fight for three belts.
I’m now pretty sure this fight will happen. I think both fighters are incredibly interested in it, and so is the public, of course. I hope we’ll finally hear something official in the near future.
