Jean Silva sends clear message for UFC title shot
Silva wants the winner of Volkanovski vs. Evloev next

Jean Silva secured a third-round submission victory over Jose Miguel Delgado last night at Noche UFC. In the third round, he took Jose Miguel Delgado to the ground and applied a rare rear-naked choke, which then forced him to tap out.
After the submission, Jean Silva celebrated with his signature gesture, which, of course, didn’t sit well with his opponent. Jean Silva then jumped out of the Octagon and, while speaking with Hunter Campbell, began taking off his gloves. After taking off his glove, it became clear why he had done so. He wanted to shake Campbell’s hand, give him his glove as a gift, and possibly send the message that he would like to face the winner of the title bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Movsar Evloev. After his victory last night, he made it clear that he is the next champion. He said:
“Whoever holds that belt, the next champion is right here. There’s a new champion in town”
That should make the request clear. Jean Silva wants to prove himself in a title fight. The only question is whether he’ll actually get one. What do you think, will he get it?
I have my doubts, but I could also imagine that, given his strong victory, he might still get a chance. He’s definitely a worthy contender, there’s no denying that. Whether that’s enough right now or whether he’ll have to win one more fight remains to be seen.
