Jiří Procházka addresses Paulo Costa fight rumors
The former champion says nothing has been signed yet.

There have been some rumors lately about who Jiří Procházka will face next. Now, however, he has put an end to them, in his classic style. There were rumors that he would next fight Paulo Costa at the UFC 332 event. The card is continuing to fill up, and it remains to be seen whether the fight will actually be added. On Instagram, Jiří Procházka posted a video to set the record straight. He uploaded a training video and wrote the following caption:
“Strong week, great rounds and teamwork Family and friend bachelors party for relax on weekend. Let’s start a 3rd week. Just don’t believe to every bullshit on internet. Fight is not confirmed yet, still working on that. One thing is sure. I want my preparation to be truly thorough—to break everything down—and to start from the roots that have long been a part of me. There are still levels that can be reached, and right now I am very grateful to see them clearly”
The interesting thing is that he isn’t completely ruling out the fight; he’s simply saying that nothing has been signed yet. This leaves the door open for further negotiations, but at the same time makes it clear that nothing is set in stone. He’s also making it clear that he wants to take things slowly to avoid making any mistakes. Jiří Procházka is a very experienced fighter, and he knows that if he rushes into it, it could quickly cost him dearly. He apparently wants to give it his all once more and is willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen. It would definitely be an exciting matchup against Paulo Costa, as he, too, is considered a very dangerous fighter. Kamaru Usman even brought him up as a possible option for a title fight in the division after the middleweight division got a little complicated. So we’ll just have to wait and see what’s announced next. The only thing that’s clear is that UFC 332 is getting closer and closer, but the promotion is, of course, already planning more events for the rest of the year. Maybe that’s the better option, who knows.
I’m really curious to see if and when the two might fight each other. It would be a great matchup to watch, since both are very interesting to watch. I’d be very happy to see an official announcement, but I don’t think it’ll happen at UFC 332 just yet.
