Josh Hokit Calls for Alex Pereira Showdown at Madison Square Garden

The heavyweight contender wants a BMF clash with Pereira in November, but it remains unclear whether the UFC has any interest in making the fight happen.

UFC heavyweight star Josh Hokit has challenged Alex Pereira on social media for a potential BMF title fight.

Charles Oliveira still holds the unofficial title, but after dominating Max Holloway at UFC 326 especially in grappling, some fans have argued that Oliveira's grappling-heavy performance didn't reflect the spirit of the BMF title. If that were to happen, Alex Pereira would be a good candidate for it, and Josh Hokit would very much like to fight him. On X, he’s already shared a possible month when this fight could take place.

Maybe. Since Alex Pereira lost his fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC 250, this would be a good opportunity to give him a chance to prove himself again. On top of that, both competed at UFC 250, so they’re on equal footing, and the UFC knows that. So it’s not at all unlikely that they’ll agree to Josh Hokit’s demands. If the fight is then scheduled for November, both fighters would have about five months to prepare, which would make perfect sense.

Of course, I'd be excited about the fight, no question because two interesting characters would be facing off. However, it's always a bit questionable whether the UFC will act on such requests so quickly, so for now I'm not that optimistic that a fight will actually happen.
