Josh Kelly takes biggest risk against Jaron Ennis

Kelly risks his title against Jaron Ennis in major unification

Josh Kelly takes biggest risk against Jaron Ennis

Josh Kelly is about to take the biggest risk of his career.

He is close to finalizing a deal for a fight with Jaron Ennis in late November or mid-December for three junior middleweight titles. Both fighters would be taking a big risk here, but of course they have the chance to secure three titles in a single bout. Jaron Ennis currently holds the WBC and WBO titles after completely destroying Xander Zayas. Josh Kelly, on the other hand, holds the IBF title, which he won in his bout against Caoimhín Agyarko. Following that fight, Josh Kelly took some time off to recover and receive treatment. Now, however, he’s taken the plunge and challenged the biggest puncher in the weight class. This also makes things easier for Eddie Hearn, among others, since he can stage such a fight within his own organization without having to deal with any annoying negotiations.

“We’re in final negotiations for the Josh Kelly fight, that big unification. It looks to land end of November, December on DAZN. That’s another great fight. What Boots says he wants to do is very simple: Kelly, Fundora, undisputed. After that, anything goes”

Hearn told Matchroom Boxing.

With this fight, Josh Kelly is earning a lot of respect. It’s a huge challenge to face Jaron Ennis, and according to reports, he was actually the one who took the initiative against his opponent. Josh Kelly has a few defensive weaknesses he absolutely needs to address, or else it could get pretty tough. If he doesn’t let those openings happen and forces Jaron Ennis to switch stances frequently, allowing Josh Kelly to land his powerful right, he might have a chance. What do you think about this matchup? Who has the edge?

I’m really looking forward to this fight, and I think we’re in for something really big. I’m a fan of both boxers, and I’m very curious to see who comes out on top in the end. What do you think?
