Klitschko comeback fight with Agit Kabayel?

Bernt Boente says a fight between Wladimir Klitschko and Agit Kabayel is possible, although a comeback is still far from certain.

Bernt Boente, the longtime manager of former world champion Wladimir Klitschko, told World Boxing News that a bout between Wladimir Klitschko and Agit Kabayel could indeed happen. For several years, there have been rumors that Wladimir Klitschko might actually fight again if he has the chance to become the oldest heavyweight world champion in history with 50 years.

“There is going to be no comeback to come back and to break a jaw. It’s a comeback to break a record.”

said Wladimir Klitschko.

That said, rumors that Wladimir Klitschko is making a comeback have been around for a long time, it just never happened. Whether it will happen this time remains to be seen.

That said, Agit Kabayel doesn’t seem entirely opposed to the idea either. Although he actually emphasizes that he’s looking for a challenge on a sporting level, he didn’t say that a fight would be impossible.

“We’ll see what comes. I’m ready for any challenge.”

The fight might not mean much to Agit Kabayel from a sporting perspective, but for Wladimir Klitschko, it would be exactly what he’s been talking about for years.

We’ll see if a fight actually ends up happening, or if it was just another rumor.

Although I would be a huge fan of that fight, to be honest, I don't think it would happen. In my opinion, it would take up too much of Agit Kabayel's time for what is essentially a pointless fight. I hope that Wladimir Klitschko might still be able to make this dream come true somehow, but I don’t think Agit Kabayel will be the one to make it happen.
