Islam Makhachev shuts down retirement rumors ahead of ufc 330

Ahead of the upcoming title fight at UFC 330 between Islam Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry, rumors began circulating that Islam Makhachev might retire after the fight. However, Islam Makhachev himself has clearly denied these rumors and shows no hesitation about continuing his career after the fight.

"No, no, no. I told you I like to be UFC champion and we're still going"

he said in an interview with TMZ.

Islam Makhachev was also asked if there would be a specific age at which he no longer plans to fight. He simply replied that he doesn’t have a specific number in mind, but will just go by how he feels.

So far, however, he doesn’t seem to be concerned about his age at all. Instead of gradually slowing down, he could even become even more dominant in the future. If he knocks out Ian Machado Garry, it will be another major victory in his career, and then it will be difficult for the other contenders to find a way to beat him.

Islam Makhachev also showed great respect for Ian Machado Garry and said that he will definitely be a tough opponent for him, as he possesses excellent skills. He thinks Ian Machado Garry is a really good challenger whom he’d really like to defeat.

No matter how this fight turns out, however, the end of his career doesn’t seem to be imminent just yet. The only thing he revealed is that he definitely wants to fight his final bout in his home country of Russia.

"I love to fight in Russia because it's my country. Everybody supports me there and everybody wants to watch my fight again in Russia. That's why I want to also finish my career there"

he said.

However, hopefully he still has a few more fights ahead of him first and, above all, the fight on August 15 against Ian Machado Garry.

I think Islam Makhachev will keep going for a few more years. Even if he loses the fight against Ian Machado Garry, I have a feeling he has enough determination and will try to make a comeback. How long do you think Islam Makhachev will keep going?
