Michael Page signs multi-year deal with Misfits Boxing

Michael Page has signed a multi-fight, multi-year contract with Misfits Boxing. According to some reports, the 39-year-old is expected to make his boxing debut as early as next month.

Michael Page was previously very active in MMA and was under contract with the UFC, but he recently fought his last bout against Nursulton Ruziboev, ultimately defeating him by unanimous decision. The fact that his contract wasn't renewed was primarily due to the UFC’s argument that his fights had become mostly rather boring, and that his spectacular fighting style had faded somewhat. That’s actually the main reason the UFC signed him back then. At the time, he was under contract with Bellator MMA and had scored some very spectacular knockouts there. He was a fighter people really enjoyed watching, and the fans liked him, too. That spark has faded a bit since then, which is why a new chapter is now on the horizon for him. As a result, he became a free agent after the fight and has now decided to switch to boxing.

“I’ve been in combat sports for a long time and I’ve had plenty of options, but Misfits Boxing is the right fit for me. They’re doing things differently, the energy is huge, and the fights are big. I’m excited for this new chapter, and I’m coming to show the boxing world what I can do”

he said.

An opponent for him hasn't been announced yet, but one should be named soon. What do you think about this move, and do you think he'll be successful in boxing? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
