Moses Itauma: fans pick his next opponent

Even though Moses Itauma just suffered his first career loss, fans have already identified new opponents for him.

On Saturday night, he lost to Filip Hrgović after a total of nine rounds via a spectacular knockout. He was actually the more dominant fighter for most of the fight, but at some point he visibly ran out of steam. His legs became unsteady, while Filip Hrgović grew stronger and stronger and ultimately ended the fight.

Promoter Frank Warren has advised Moses Itauma to take a break for now, but he has reportedly already requested a rematch. Given the numerous online discussions about who Moses Itauma should face next, a few names have already been mentioned. Jared Anderson is a name that has come up frequently. He himself is still relatively young at 26 and would prove to be another good test. Frank Warren has announced that Jared Anderson’s next fight is set to take place in the UK, which would certainly make sense. A matchup between the two would be a good idea overall, as it could be a major step forward for both of them. However, that’s not the only name that’s been mentioned. Here’s the list of other names:

  1. Jared Anderson

  2. Richard Torrez Jr.

  3. Filip Hrgović

  4. Dave Allen

  5. Andy Ruiz Jr.

All of these names were mentioned most often, and they’re all plausible. Which one would you like best?

Personally, I think a match against Dave Allen would make the most sense. He’s 34 and would be another good test for Moses Itauma. I also believe that if Moses Itauma continues to work on his conditioning, he can take on anyone. Still, he understandably needs more fights first to establish himself. I’m excited to see what’s next!
