Oleksandr Usyk open to fighting for Zuffa title
Usyk says his team has already held talks with Dana White.

The three-time world champion appears ready to fight for a new title in the final bout of his career. In an interview, Oleksandr Usyk explained that his team has already spoken with Dana White, and that they would be willing to let Oleksandr Usyk fight for the Zuffa Boxing title.
“Maybe it’s good opportunity for me if Dana, who is the boss of Zuffa, to work about this organization. Why not? Why not? It’s new belt, new opportunity. It’s good”
said Oleksandr Usyk.
Apparently, he now has two options to choose from. One would be the option to fight for the Zuffa title, and the other would likely be a major event against a top opponent. However, he hasn’t revealed any further details yet.
These comments follow his announcement that he would relinquish all heavyweight titles to allow the new generation to compete for them. Oleksandr Usyk spoke about how he still clearly remembers waiting for a title shot himself. That’s why he wants the vision to evolve so that others don’t have to wait as long. This means that Oleksandr Usyk is unlikely to end his career within the traditional system of the world boxing organizations.
If the fight were to actually take place under Zuffa Boxing, it would be a huge success for Dana White’s promotion. Even if it’s just one fight, a name like Oleksandr Usyk attracts massive attention.
If the two can reach an agreement, Oleksandr Usyk could end his career in a truly historic way and help usher in a new era of heavyweight boxing.
I didn’t expect Oleksandr Usyk to fight for a title again. I thought he’d just face a big-name opponent. I actually don’t think Dana White’s offer is that bad. If Oleksandr Usyk were to fight for a title one last time, that would certainly be an interesting scenario.
