Pacquiao vs Stevenson could join Fury-Joshua card

The two are reportedly negotiating a potential Cardiff showdown

The end of the year could get very, very exciting in the boxing world. The bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is now official. Now it’s all about finding matches for the undercard, and it looks like things won’t be any less exciting there either.

According to reports, negotiations are already underway between Shakur Stevenson and Manny Pacquiao, which would be a really cool fight. For Shakur Stevenson, this would above all be an opportunity to prove on the world stage that he can compete against bigger opponents, and that he doesn’t, as is often claimed, always seek out easier opponents. For Manny Pacquiao, on the other hand, it would be a chance to catapult himself back to the top at age 47. The only problem is that he hasn’t won a fight since 2019. Since then, however, he’s only fought twice. The weight class would also be interesting, since Shakur Stevenson mainly fights at 140 pounds, but Manny Pacquiao last fought in that weight class in 2009. So if the two of them were to actually take the ring, every boxing market would truly collide that night. Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury already draw a huge audience, while Manny Pacquiao would also bring the Asian market with him. It’s hard to imagine how many viewers will be watching.
