The UFC lightweight would consider a crossover bout if the money is right, but his focus remains on MMA.

Paddy Pimblett reveals condition for Misfits Boxing debut

Paddy Pimblett revealed what conditions might convince him to make an appearance at MisfitsBoxing. The UFC star was asked about a possible crossover bout, with the idea being that he could test himself against several boxers from the promotion in a single evening. He didn’t rule out the challenge, but he didn’t accept it either. He said that for something like that to happen, the financial terms would have to be right for him to agree to it.

“Obviously. Of course, I could. You never know. We’ll see if the money’s right in a couple of years”

All he’s revealing is that he’d theoretically be open to it. He doesn’t mention whether there have already been any offers or negotiations regarding this. The only thing that’s clear is that it’s not at all unrealistic that an offer has already been made. Misfits Boxing is currently struggling to bring in big names for a few bouts. There have apparently already been offers for Henry Cejudo, or Michael Page, who has in fact just signed on.

Paddy Pimblett, on the other hand, is still in the prime of his career. He’s one of the biggest names in the lightweight division and could very well have a shot at a title soon if he keeps this up. His statement that he wouldn’t do something like that for a few years yet confirms that his focus is entirely on MMA for now, which is a good thing. What do you guys think?

I think it’s a good decision to rule out switching sports right now. If he makes a move for the money after his career is over, that’s completely understandable. But I’d find it a real shame to switch sports for money in the middle of his career. Fortunately, he’s not doing that.
