Rico Verhoeven linked to Agit Kabayel title fight?!

Agit Kabayel’s manager says Rico Verhoeven could be a voluntary challenger after impressing against Oleksandr Usyk.

Rico Verhoeven might get a second chance to win the heavyweight title. Now that Agit Kabayel’s manager has brought the kickboxer into the conversation, it’s not unlikely that Rico Verhoeven will face Agit Kabayel as a voluntary challenger.

“Holland’s very close to Germany; it’s an hour away, (he) would bring massive support, and I think that would fill 50,000 in Germany.

Spencer Brown, Agit Kabayel’s manager, told Playbook Boxing.

He also spoke about the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Rico Verhoeven, in which Rico Verhoeven clearly exceeded expectations. The fight went to the eleventh round, and by that point, one judge had even scored it in Rico Verhoeven’s favor.

Spencer Brown addressed exactly that.

“It’s a sensible fight. I think Oleksandr Usyk won the fight fair and square… (But) I thought (he) put up an unbelievable performance. I’d never seen anything like it.”

He said.

Rico Verhoeven has since moved up to No. 8 in the WBC heavyweight rankings, even though this was only his second professional fight. According to Spencer Brown, however, he is now among the names being mentioned in connection with a world title fight against Agit Kabayel. Nothing has been officially announced yet, and as things stand, we can only speculate about who will face Agit Kabayel. There are plenty of potential opponents; the only question is who will ultimately strike a suitable deal.

In my opinion, it would be fair to Rico Verhoeven to somehow make this fight happen for him. He was very strong against Oleksandr Usyk, but in the end, he still lost. He’s definitely proven himself, but the reward is still missing. On the other hand, it feels like it doesn’t really matter who ends up facing Agit Kabayel, since it’s going to be a great fight either way. Still, I’d naturally be happy for Rico Verhoeven if he’s given this second chance.
