Rodriguez wins in his third weight class as well!

Jesse Rodriguez defeated American Antonio Vargas, who was defending his WBA bantamweight title, in 6 rounds.

He knocked Antonio Vargas out as early as the fourth round, then finished him off in the sixth with a powerful left hand before the fight was stopped. With this win, Jesse Rodriguez improves his record to 24-0, with 17 of those wins coming by knockout.

After the fight, he said how proud he is to be a three-division champion at the age of 26.

“I was just happy I'm a three-division champion at 26 years old”

he said after the fight.

Looking ahead to his future, he also had a few words to say:

"Im ready for whoever, whenever,Put them in front of me, and I'm going to say yes"

he said, which naturally gives many people hope that the superfight between Jesse Rodriguez and super bantamweight world champion Naoya Inoue might actually happen. With an incredible record of 33-0, including 27 KOs, he’s naturally attracting a lot of attention.

But how realistic is this fight?

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn said it’s only a matter of time.

"The inevitable fight will get made It’s just a case of when"

he said, which is, of course, very promising. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long, because this fight could really change things.

Personally, I thought Jesse Rodriguez’s performance yesterday was very good again. I hope for his sake that the fight between him and Naoya Inoue happens as soon as possible, so he can go into the fight feeling confident. Everyone knows how good Naoya Inoue is, so you really need to have a great day to beat him.
